TotalEnergies joins the Polypropylene Recycling Alliance of the Recycling Partnership to increase the U.S. plastic recycling rate and promote the circular economy

Houston, October 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ – TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining USA, Inc., a subsidiary of the wide-ranging energy company TotalEnergies (NYSE: TTE), today announced its funding partnership as a polypropylene recycling alliance Participation of partners, this is an initiative to recycle partnerships.
TotalEnergies’ cooperation within the polypropylene recycling alliance will focus on increasing the roadside recycling of polypropylene (PP) to ensure that this packaging material is widely recycled and reused in the end market, including food and beverage packaging, consumer goods and automotive parts part.

The main focus of The Partnership’s Polypropylene Recycling Alliance is to achieve the same high level of recycling of polypropylene as other plastics such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The way to achieve this goal is to provide grants to recycling facilities and to target consumer education and recycling infrastructure improvements.
